Privacy Policy

This policy applies to people who browse or use Fair Soko, create an account, list an item, communicate with another user, make or receive an offer, enter an agreement, complete a payment, submit a review or report, or contact Fair Soko.

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, verification status, password hash, account status, and security records.
• Profile information: avatar, biography, and general marketplace location.
• Marketplace activity:listings, photos, offers, counteroffers, messages, agreements, reviews, reports, promotions, and trust or reputation events.
• Verification and safety data:one-time-code status, delivery identifiers, request timing, hashed request information, device or browser details, IP addresses, and fraud-prevention or moderation records.
• Payment and payout data:payment references, payment status, amounts, seller payout account details, masked account information, and provider records needed to process or reconcile marketplace payments.
• Technical data: application logs, error information, session activity, and service usage needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Fair Soko.

• Provide accounts, profiles, listings, messaging, and offers.
• Create and enforce locked-price marketplace agreements.
• Verify email addresses and sensitive transaction confirmations.
• Process payments, seller settlements, and platform fees.
• Prevent fraud, off-platform fee avoidance, abuse, and spam.
• Deliver notifications and important account messages.
• Investigate reports, disputes, and safety incidents.
• Maintain security, backups, logs, and service reliability.
• Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

Public profile and listing information is visible to marketplace users. Buyers and sellers receive the information needed to complete a transaction, subject to Fair Soko safety and payment rules.

We may also share limited information with service providers such as:

• hosting, database, logging, and security providers;
• Cloudinary or similar media-storage providers;
• Brevo or other transactional email providers;
• Paystack for payment and seller payout processing;
• professional advisers, authorities, or courts when required.

Fair Soko does not sell personal information to advertisers.

We keep information while an account is active and for as long as it is needed to provide the service. When an account is deleted, Fair Soko removes or anonymizes login, contact, profile, and local payout details and closes active marketplace access.

Some transaction, payment, agreement, commission, fraud, safety, moderation, tax, accounting, and audit records may be retained in anonymized or restricted form when required to protect users, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. Service-provider records and encrypted backups may follow separate retention periods.

Fair Soko uses access controls, password hashing, secure cookies, validation, rate limiting, transport encryption in production, and restricted administrative tools. No system is completely secure, so users should protect their credentials and report suspicious activity.

• Review or update account and profile details in Settings.
• Manage notification preferences where available.
• Request correction or deletion of personal information.
• Delete the account from Settings → Account.
• Contact Fair Soko about access, privacy, or deletion questions.

Service providers may process information in countries other than the user's country. Fair Soko uses providers and safeguards appropriate to the service and the information involved.

We may update this policy as Fair Soko changes. Material changes will be communicated through the application or another appropriate channel, and the updated date will be shown on this page.
